Mr. Araya is an MBA and Industrial Engineer from the Costa Rica Institute of Technology (ITCR). He holds studies from the Kitakyushu International Techno-Cooperative Association (KITA/JICA), Japan; Maastricht School of Management (MSM), Maastricht University, The Netherlands; and the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE), University of Lund, Sweden; specializing in Policies, Environmental Management, Clean Production and Entrepreneurship Promotion and Industrial Assistance.
With more than 15 years of local and international experience, Walter has served as a consultant to various multilateral organizations and businesses on Sustainability Management and business innovation in products and services systems with social and environmental attributes.
Within its main areas of performance and action, are: i) improvement of the conditions of strategies, plans and legislation; ii) Public-Private Partnerships as an instrument for the strengthening of country development through successful productive chains; and iii) Production and competitiveness.
He has been a visiting lecturer in the Masters Program in Modern Manufacturing Systems at the ITCR and the School of Food Technology at the University of Costa Rica.
